Yes, I Want to Help Vanessa Behan Keep Kids Safe and Strengthen Families.
We are so grateful to the AMC Institute for your willingness to support Vanessa Behan! Our organization exists because of a tragic story in the Spokane community. In 1982, Vanessa Kay Behan died from child abuse injuries at just two years old. We exist to prevent stories like Vanessa's from happening to another child.
For 38 years, Vanessa Behan has provided a safe place for children to stay when their families experience crisis or overwhelm. Since opening our doors, we have provided care to over 139,500 children in our region. In 2024, we served 7,241 child visits and provided over 86,000 hours of safe, trauma-informed care. Children aged birth to 12 can stay at Vanessa Behan for up to 72 hours, receiving care from our dedicated staff who provide consistent reminders that children are safe and worthy, and offering respite to their caregivers so they can access the resources they need to thrive.
Your investment in Vanessa Behan is an investment in the wellbeing of children in Spokane and the Inland Northwest. Thank you for helping us create a healthier community!
